Dear Arthur

I am doing similar thing right now... converting the Access database backend
to mysql
with the front end still in Access XP. The problem i seem to have now is
when my form is running some
query which then show on the listbox..it take a real long time to show up...
why is that so??what do i need
to do to the mysql database after i have import them from Access?? Currently
I am using myODBC for
the linked table. Please advise..

Hi Arthur
I'll be using Win2000, there are a couple of boxes within this network setup
that are Win95, Win98, Win98SE, I've told the guy he should upgrade the OSes
to Win2000.
He's going to upgrade the RAM in all boxes on the network to 384mb. So
Win2000 should be OK.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers Tracy

That will work fine, Tracey. What OS you running? Linux or WindX? Linux can
stretch a tired old box into new athleticism, but with so few users even
WindX will do fine.

Any other issues, feel free. I've been down this road 100 times :-)

Arthur

Hi Arthur
Thanks for the info, I was looking at a PIII-466 Celeron with 256mb RAM -
with only 5 users accessing it.
So this should be a good starting point.

Cheers Tracy
