Programming skills en techniques are mostly not the issue. You can get a book and learn-study some. What I am curious about is if there is anyone who use softwaretools (could be a complete app or just an excel sheet or just by head) to help him-her with the development proces. At the moment I am working freelance at a large insurance companie in Holland. The discussion is starting if the use of a CASETOOL could structure, improve, speed up the development proces. Now each WISH/Functionality is being described in a Functional Design then that design is being translated to a technical design. All stored in a word document with several chapters. It costs very lot of time to read everything and take that part of the design which you need. For myself I have started to work on a database in which I split up business functions and group all technical functions used in that businessfunction. Now this tool is to be used by more programmers and added functionality with it. This keeps work for me as freelancer :-). I am looking for other tools, Suggestions, remarkts, stories, experiences which I and offcourse the readers of this list can use to improve their own development proces. Tnx.
