How about exporting the data to one spreadsheet and link the data from that spreadsheet in the same workbook to the preformatted report in another spreadsheet in the workbook. Then create a macro attached to a button that would send the report spreadsheet as an attachment. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Boyd [mailto:MarkBoyd at McBeeAssociates.com] Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 10:44 AM To: accessd at databaseadvisors.com Subject: RE: [AccessD] Export to Excel Charles - I wish it were that easy. When this whole thing began, I recommended that we send it as a .pdf file. I was told there are some circumstances where the client needs to manipulate the data after they receive it, and they prefer Excel when doing the manipulating. Send the report as either .pdf or .snp. Charles Wortz Software Development Division Texas Education Agency 1701 N. The user clicks a button, which automatically exports the formatted report to Excel. Then, the report is emailed to the appropriate client. How can I only export the record source, without having the user interact with Excel to format the data? Have a pre-designed report template? Charles Wortz -----Original Message----- From: Mark Boyd [mailto:MarkBoyd at McBeeAssociates.com] Sent: Monday 2003 Feb 10 09:18 To: AccessD at databaseadvisors.com Subject: [AccessD] Export to Excel We are having an issue with exporting data from an Access report to an Excel spreadsheet. It seems that whenever there are calculated fields such as report totals, the data doesn't display properly after exporting. Also, some fields are moved way to the right, while others are way left. Does anyone know of 3rd party software that will export an Access report to Excel as clean as possible?
