Paul, A work-around would be to create, or copy from another location, an empty dbf. Then append, via Access, all the records from the first dbf. Since Access does recognize the delete flag the deleted records will not be appended. Then clean up by getting rid of the old dbf and renaming the new one. All of the can be automated through code allowing for a single button click to execute it. Hello Is there an add-on, code, whatever that will allow me to pack / compact dbf files with Access 97? I have a GIS (geographic information system)called ArcView 3.2 that does not recognise the delete flag within a dbf file. So when deletes occur to a linked dbf from within Access they still appear within the GIS. I do not want to have to purchase a dbf program just to pack so was hoping someone out there had the same experience and found a solution.
