A2K  Here is what I have for data source for CSZ:=Trim([City] & ", " &
[state] & " " & [zip] & IIf(IsNull([plus4]),"","-" & [plus4]))
The SecondAddress text box is set to CanShrink. (In fact all of them are
set that way) It works everytime.

Susan -

What version of Access are you using?

This project uses Access2000.

I have a report with the same type of controls in the page header. I get a
CanShrink proterty for the control.

Brett -

The problem with that is the fields are in the page header ... no CanShrink
property there.

Thanks,

Mark

Assuming that each field is in a separate TextBox, all you need to do is set
the Report section and TextBox CanShrink property to True. Access will take
care of the rest for you!

I have a report that is formatted like a business letter.

In the address section (which is in the page header), I have the following 4
fields:

[BillingName]

[Addr1]

[Addr2]

[CityStZip]

How can I force the [CityStZip] up a line when [Addr2] is blank?

Most of the addresses look like this:

John Smith

123 Main St.

City, St 12345

I tried setting the CanShrink property of [Addr2] to 'Yes', but this doesn't
work.

Any ideas?
