[AccessD] Code Librarian /was Thanks

Allow me to jump in, since I originated this thread :-) I volunteer to head
the development team on this project, and to provide the initial database
offering. It's not perfect or complete, but I'm guessing that I have
invested more time in codelib than other listers, so I will offer my current
database as the starting point.

There's nothing at all wrong with the CL UI. Well maybe there is, but it
works pretty well. However there are two distinct versions, one of which is
loaded as an add-in and the other a stand-alone program written I would
guess in VB. Before we run off and write something, may I suggest/ask:

1. I don't know how to get around the password issue. (I.e. if you try to
open CodeLib.mdb from Access it demands a password. Does anyone know the
password? That would be an excellent starting point. Then I could
reverse-engineer the db -- not that its structure is difficult to deduce,
but simply in the interests of preserving column names and sizes and so on.)

2. The major feature lacking in the stand-alone version is the ability to
import and export from various instances of codelib.mdb. Minor features
lacking include printing facilities (i.e. print selected fragment(s),
topic(s) &c.)

3. I'm not sure precisely when MS switched to the integrated version from
the stand-alone version, but I prefer the stand-alone version. Incidentally,
I have used it to create various *lib.mdb files for Access, XML, VB, PHP and
Perl. In fact, this is the beauty of the product. You can store any kind of
code in it that you want (but it only makes sense to create several MDBs
each devoted to a particular language).

All this said, I'd better fire the sucker up right now and start cleaning
up, documenting &c. the snippets I have collected to date, before one of you
asks for what I've got already! Reminds me of my mother's reason for
changing your underwear every day -- you might go to the hospital on short
notice :-)

Arthur
