[AccessD] Access app for 24/7 usage?

Access has a nasty habit of spiking the CPU usage in a 24/7 situation on a
server and not always letting go. We ran into big problems when trying to
use it for this type of process.

A VB FE would have a smaller CPU usage signature. We ended up creating a VB
executable that checks to see if something needs to be done and opens/closes
the Access FE as needed to process the output.

Subject: [AccessD] Access app for 24/7 usage?

Hi All,

I am going to be creating an application that parses the output from our
telephone system and log it into an Access database. This application will
be running on a server so that it can be up 24/7. What I was wonder is if an
Access FE app will be OK running 24/7? Would I be better off creating the FE
in VB instead? I think that it would be easier to get the data into the
database if I use Access as the FE but I am more concerned with reliability.

Many thanks,

Joe R.
