Have you considered that the password isn't exactly what you think it is? I did that once. Took me the longest time to figure it out too because I couldn't believe I'd done the typo twice in a row! Backups are an unknown word, Formatting the disk and starting from there is a nightmare scenario. I'd happily restart the upgrade but can't even get into Windows to do anything, and anyway I don't imagine one can "upgrade" when you're already on W2K.
