[AccessD] Cannot open table in code

The following code will not open the table . Message is type mismatch.
Looks like code I have used before. Probably missing something simple.

Function Add_or_Read_Record()

Dim myds As Recordset, MyDB As Database
Set MyDB = CurrentDb
Set myds = MyDB.OpenRecordset("tbl Last Date in tbl_monthly_inputs",
dbOpenTable)

End Function

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large
number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
