Gustav, I believe Shape is an ADO object introduced in ADO 2.0. Here's some info from help but it looks like it might work with any OLEDB compatible data source. <help snip> The Microsoft Data Shaping Service for OLE DB service provider supports the construction of hierarchical (shaped) Recordset objects from one or more data providers.
