This may be the case, but wouldn't explain why Charlotte got 0 files
returned in her search...

Is there a limit to the number of directories and 
subdirectories that can be searched/found this way? There 
used to be some absolute limits to the number of 
directories in the root and other stuff... I'm wondering 
if there is a limit, artificial or not, being hit here. 
Does it by chance find "exactly" 128, or 256, or 512, etc. 
folders/files before choking?
