Oh, yeah. If you use an MDE library, you have to upgrade that to match
the front end. We ran into that with our Redemption libarary when we
moved to XP.

Do you use a library? I had this issue and had to recompile BOTH the
framework (library) and the FE and install new (recompiled) versions of
both on the XP machines.

Subject: [AccessD] A2K and AXP questions

I have a mature A2K database, MDE format, that's been in use for about 1
year with no problems. Recently, I was informed, by the client, that
when it's opened in AXP, an error message occurs and it closes down. The
error message states something about the database needs to be repaired
and then shuts down. I tested it on a few machines in the office and my
box at home. I could not duplicate the error the client received. The
MDE opens as expected on the machines at the office using AXP. On my
computer at home, I got an error message (I didn't' save the error
message) and it shut down. The MDB file gets an error message about a
missing reference (msado15.dll, v2.7). On my box at home I removed a
reverence to XP Web, then both the MDE and MDB worked!

When converted to XP, they work as expected.
The code for both versions of the MDB - is the same!
There wasn't any changes to the code that I could find and the
references didn't change.

Why is this happening?
Why is the code the same, with no change in references, works in AXP
version but not the A2K version?

Just curious if anyone had any insight as to the reason this was
occurring. I will be converting the database to XP and move on.

TIA
Jim
