[AccessD] Which ADO goes with A97

...first ...you've just landed in DLL Hell ...congratulations ...there are
30+ page articles on MSDN on this subject which I've never been able to
figure out because I apparently don't read greek or geek very well ...one of
many reasons I've passed on ADO for the most part :(

...the latest Jet SPs appear to install the current ADO library and reset
any references on my system, and if MS actually succeeded in maintaining
backwards compatibility, it all plays nicely ...so far, so good ...your
mileage may vary but you might want to give it a try since I no longer have
A97 installed ...of, course, I constantly await the next SP to fix what the
last one broke :(

...two ..."preinstalled" AXP can be a PITA ...Dell for instance, only
installs the basics ...you can almost certainly count on having to
reconfigure each individual system as well as do the "registration" ...and
of course, a full Access install gives users all kinds of opportunities to
screw with your db even if you use an mde.

...I try to insist on Access free clients with a runtime install managed
from the server ...only one client system with the ODE edition with very
limited access to it ...the cost savings on Office Standard vs Office Pro
more than cover the ODE purchase spread over several systems ...and I ...as
well as the client ...have far fewer problems over the life of the database
caused by users ...he saves money and headaches, I get more time in my
hammock :)
