Report Error I usually hide all reports and run them from forms, especially because the subsets of data the user wants depend on selections made in the forms. Then I pass the selections to the report and trap the errors. e.g. no data. ==========I was thinking that I might be able to trap the error and in the errorhandler, set the default value. Picky? Users don't read manuals, only their lawyers will do so when you really make a mess. So guiding users through the appropriate process with menus, tooltips, messages, etc. isn't picky, just good service. ==========Thanks for understanding. Most of the mail I get is really nice. They just want to know more, so they can take the technique a little further. But, in my own self-serving way, I'd rather ward off as many of the "you're an idiot" emails as possible. I don't get very many, which I don't really think is a reflection of my intelligence, but rather the manners of most of the readers. ;) Susan H.
