Whew.  I was starting to shake in my boots there.  It's bad enough that
Microsoft would threaten me with murder death kill, but to phrase it such
that it was almost impossible to determine how to get around it...

Click on TOOLS|MACRO|Security
And choose the bottom option/radio button (LOW) 
and ignore any messages about killing, raping etc

How do I turn off Access silly security warning ("you are about to open a
file that can eat your mother, rape your women and kill your children, are
you SURE you don't want to download..."
