Now that I can get at the Subform Field Linker by putting the subform in design mode (rather than trying to get the Linker while designing the Main form and looking at the links in a sub-subform) I think I'll be all right. I guess that the [running] I see on the VB title bar just means that an Access wizard is running. Why that wizard chokes when I try to get the links in a sub-subform is the thing that puzzles me.
