Fantastic John!! I think this is going to help a lot of people, including myself.. I think the discussion is On Topic, and I vote to keep it on this list.. Just be patient with me, as it may take me a while to digest the information enough to respond with questions.. Thanks John!! Colby Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2004 10:48 PM To: AccessD Subject: [AccessD] Building up a framework I am preparing a series of articles for Many-to-Many on building a framework. I have a very basic framework started with the clsFW class, dclsFrm and dclsTextBox, as well as Sysvars and a couple of service classes, ZIP and Unzip. I will throw in a few more like some encryption classes. AFAICT this much is functioning, I can load a form, the form scanner finds all text boxes and loads a class for each, the SysVars function etc. Many to Many only publishes every 2 months or so. A series of articles will take 6 months to a year to get out. There is going to be a LOT of code, and some pretty in-depth discussions of collections, Classes / setup, teardown and debugging, Withevents, service classes and all the other stuff that goes into my framework. The end result will be a fully functioning if still rather basic application framework. My question to the group is, should I hold a discussion of the framework, how it is built, why I do this stuff and so forth on this list, or take it off to another list for only those interested?
