Yip well aware! Will be sorting out a proper solution that will update the 
import function to take care of this..but for now that is exactly what I 
want!

ALTER TABLE table
ALTER COLUMN column newtype([size])

Table must be closed, and I'm assuming you understand the risks of 
changing
the data type, so I won't ramble on about that.
