Just different experiences I guess. I've had locking files (in Word and Excel) go south more often then the actual document. Can't recall an .ldb locking issue. I have seen main doc corruption too, just more frequently (in what I have experienced), it was the locking file, which is a LOT easier to recover from! LOL. I have had more Word doc go south on me than any type locking file or mdb or any other file. I have never heard of a locking file getting corrupt. I have never had an Excel doc go south, so I can't speak about which is more common in Excel. Bryan Carbonnell bryan_carbonnell at cbc.ca >>> DWUTKA at marlow.com 26-Mar-04 2:27:58 PM >>> file. The more common issues with Word and Excel are the 'locking' files. Something will goof in them, and then that file is locked out. Since Word/Excel is saving changes in those temp files, actual corruption in the original document is more rare (but not unheard of...excel and word have to update the original document when you save it, so that is when corruption can occur there). -- _______________________________________________ AccessD mailing list AccessD at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/accessd Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com
