[AccessD] document development tools

Do you know of any document development tools, something like VISIO Technical or Quick CAD that 
are specifically designed to support a tedium free graphical development of a 
table architecture or data model?  

I'm wondering if there is an affordable application out there for 
drafting up table schema's and database design diagrams that is  easier to use than 
wiring together a bunch of text boxes or flow chart symbols in a MSword document. 

Just curious if you know about somthing that the development community uses.
