[AccessD] Unzip Files

Doesn't JavaScript expose it? I know I used the jscript library in dot
net to get at zip/unzip functionality.

I'm pretty sure MS doesn't extend zip support via API calls. The expand
utility has been around for a long time (at least Win95) specifically to
assist installation of files stored in cabs. You might find a freeware
app that allows command line unzip functionality, though.

I wrote a simple VB app a while back to manage our 20 GB SQL Server
backups. It was run automatically each night to shell out to the WinZip
command line to automatically compress new backup files to an archive
folder and delete old archive files.

Brett,

Thanks for the shortcut...I was able to get to the link from home.

What I'm actually searching for is a way to use the 'uncompress or
extract'
feature that is part of Windows XP. I found the 'expand' command
line...but it only seems to work for .cab files, not .zip. Unless I got
the syntax wrong...it only copies the .zip files.

I've searched the web and found the same question asked over and over
again...but no answers.

Any ideas of a command line or api or something to utilize this 'unzip'
function built into Windows XP without any additional software?

Thanks,

Mark A. Matte
