[AccessD] Table does not open to first record

It is. Generally, Access is smart enough to work out what index(es) to use 
when sorting data, as long as you  tell it what order you want it in.

You can have many different indexes on a table in order to retreive data in 
a particular order quickly but until you tell it to do so, Access will not 
know what order you want and will just give you the records one at a time 
in the order they are stored (which can change at any time depnending on 
what you are doing with deletes/inserts/amends  to the data)
