I don't generally use the Access security tool; I code in security based on windows logins. These mdws are a pain. Thanks for the answers... -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Dan Waters Sent: Tuesday, May 31, 2005 12:00 PM To: 'Access Developers discussion and problem solving' Subject: RE: [AccessD] System.Mdw Question Karen, There are many parts to this answer. A great source of information is a book by Gary Robinson titled 'Real World Microsoft Access ... Security'. He does show how you can do a very good job of securing an Access database. I just discovered that if a user joins himself to the system.mdw file, he can do whatever he darn well pleases. How can I prevent a user from having the ability to connect to the system.mdw? Has anyone else had this problem?
