There is nothing wrong with it as long as you are using ONLY 2005 stuff. IIS gets totally confused when you have more than one version of the framework installed. I was trying to get DotNetNuke (which uses v1.1 of the framework) to run locally on my machine and spent about 10 hours cleaning my machine to get rid of 2005 stuff (v2.0 of the framework). There are tons of postings of similar experiences out there. Again, if you just want to uninstall the old, and install the new, then you will probably not have any problems. John W. You also need to have the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 installed - which is a HUGE download - before you download SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
