I don't tell it how wide to make it.  I have a choice of "fixed width" and
"entire screen".  I assumed that meant it would figure out your resolution
and size it accordingly.

I was using Firefox 1.07)/

According to the "popular wisdom" for good readability a line isn't supposed

to be longer than about 35 characters.
