I believe Office Developer used to come with a one-year MSDN sub.

Maybe it was a one-time thing -- and it was a few years ago -- but I got
a one-year sub with purchase. I just don't remember what I bought. :) 

I don't think making you pay extra for the "manual" is a real good pr
move. :(
