[AccessD] MS Access 2003 -- keeps crashing on import

Hello:

I'm running MS Access 2003 on Windows XP SP2.

When I try to import an Excel spreadsheet into an MS Access database, MS 
Access crashes.  It doesn't matter whether destination database is in Access 
2k or 2003 format.  The following information is found in the event log.

Faulting application msaccess.exe, version 11.0.5614.0, stamp 3f3c8e3c, 
faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 00000000, debug? 0, fault 
address 0x00000000.

I've tried searching the web for this error and found that some other people 
also have the same problem (however not during an import but from other 
tasks such as creating a new report or viewing a form).

Can anyone shed some light on this situation?  Has this happened to anyone 
else before?
