I'm glad it worked out! I hate resorting to reinstalling windows (or knowing someone else had to). I've rarely had to do that with XP. We have this really cool list called dba-tech where we talk about things like this all the time - EVERYONE'S invited to join that list also! ;o) In fact we have other specific lists that you should all check out and consider joining. :o) -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of John Colby Sent: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 10:07 AM To: 'Access Developers discussion and problem solving' Subject: Re: [AccessD] No display adapter Bryan, John, That was it! Installing the MOBO drivers from the original disk that came with the laptop caused a page fault (never a good sign) but on reboot it said that new hardware had been detected, including.... The VGA adapter. I allowed it to install everything, but it stopped on some "SomeOtherThing.Sys required" message. That wasn't on the CD but I searched for it on the C: drive and there it was in the System32/Drivers directory. Fed in that path (twice) and voila (after another reboot), I have my native resolution back. Good job guys (and why I know that, if all else fails, ASK THE LIST!) John W. Colby www.ColbyConsulting.com
