This is a great tip, and to add to it, F4 is actually a 4-way toggle. Keep pressing it and it cycles through: $c$1, then you'll get c$1, then $c1, then plain old c1 again. When you want to have static cell references....so you want to put "$"s around the cell reference...such as: $C$1.......just click on the cell reference (in your formula)....and click F4.
