Drew At the moment I already use the controls tag property to cycle (as suggested by Charlotte) to lock all the controls when the form opens. The nav buttons then operate. What I wanted was a neat way to then click edit - at the moment I unlock the controls and disable all the other buttons. Catch the change and do an update if they actually changed anything or cancel. When you say you have the fields locked, are we talking about table security, or do you have the controls locked? The exampel I am doing has all fields locked. How do most of you deal with the click of an Edit button?
