Hi Marty:

That is brilliant.... have been about to start a search on relevant

Excellent mind reading! :-)

Why not just call Access Reports from VB.Net
You will need either the Microsoft Office XP or 2003 Primary Interop
Assemblies (PIAs).
Microsoft Office XP primary interop assemblies (PIAs) are available for
download
XP

2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897646/
Then
How To Automate Microsoft Access From Visual Basic .NET

or more general

http://msdn.microsoft.com/office/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/odc_of2003
_bk/html/officeinteroperabilitych2_part1.asp

 you may have to reference the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel namespace
through an alias, like so:

using Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel;
