I export Access data into a generic Excel spreadsheet. I then open an Excel template linked to that spreadsheet, so that the data shows up where I want it (This is from Roger's web site). Then I save the file as a regular spreadsheet. This is all done from Access. I then break the links when the workbook is first opened. So far so good. When I try to re-import the data into Access, I get the message: "The wizard is unable to access information in the file 'C:\My Documents\2442.AFES Crew Compartment.xls'. Please check that the file exists and is in the correct format." I get the same message when I try to link to it. Microsoft's web site says some ISAM file is missing, causing this. However, it is ONLY the files created in this way that Access can't handle. It has no problem with other Excel files, including the generic one that is created first. Any ideas? TIA. Thomas F.
