I would suggest looking at MS Graph. It has the power, within Access, to create a chart that looks just as good as Excel. You'll need to do quite a bit of data manipulation, or create cascading queries, but this keeps it all in one application. The only difference that I've seen so far is that in MS Graph I couldn't 'smooth' a line series.
