I sue a custom tool bar for reports. It only has the magnifying glass, the box with the percent magnification and a command button labeled "CLOSE". So users have three ways to get out of a report preview - close button, X in the upper right, and the ESC key. However, you're working with engineers so there's probably not a simple enough solution. I suppose you could [put a close button on a custom toolbar with a long caption like "Click this button to close the report." Apparently file close is a difficult concept. -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Charlotte Foust Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2007 2:50 PM To: Access Developers discussion and problem solving Subject: Re: [AccessD] Status Bar Text Explain what you're trying to do, please. A print preview is a formatted preview of the printed report. You would not normally see anything there that wasn't going to print. Is there anything like that for a print preview. I would like to display a message somewhere on the screen that does not print.
