Rocky,
Wo do quite a bit of interaction with MYOB.

You can read and write to the MYOB database using tables set up within MYOB
specifically for this (ie you don't have access to the tables directly).

We have not had problems accessing the data while someone is in the system.
We use ADO and the MYOB ODBC provided by MYOB themselves. The client also
have to enable the ODBC access to the datafile via a special KEY before it
will work. As MYOB partners we can provide this KEY to our clients.
