Instead of using the wizard, make sure you are in the Tables objects list, click New, choose Link Table in the list of options. In the File name field type the UNC and click the Link button. You should then be presented with list of tables from the linked mdb. -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Kaup, Chester Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2008 10:29 AM To: Access Developers discussion and problem solving Subject: [AccessD] Connecting to network drive I need to link to tables in another access database but the linked table wizard wants to use a drive letter. The problem is that different users have the same drive designated with different letters. I found the following information but am unsure how to implement it. I thought I could change it in the msysobjects table but no go. Mapped drive connections would be something like: H:\apps\MyApplications\MyAccess.mdb And UNC would be something like: \\MySecondServer\apps\MyApplications\MyAccess.mdb Chester Kaup Engineering Technician Kinder Morgan CO2 Company, LLP Office (432) 688-3797 FAX (432) 688-3799 No trees were killed in the sending of this message.
