Hi Dan: I have always given MS SQL a separate Username and Password by adding a user's new group to the network. This is a group specifically for the MS SQL users. That group is attached via the manger to the SQL and then I use the MS SQL credentials as the username and login.... It gives an extra layer of protection as well as allows the adding and removing of access to the company data depending on a site requirements... Better flexibility as well. They have asked if we could eliminate the Access workgroup username and password login that I currently use (mostly just so the database knows who is logging in). With SQL using Windows Authentication, my Access app could simply pick up on the current username and go from there, without going through an additional username and password entry. Has anyone done this? Any pros, cons, or gotchas? Thanks!
