Not actually an answer to your question, but maybe you're thinking of the
situation where you include Null in the list, which gives you a column
heading of "<>".

Subject: [AccessD] crosstab query columns
Hello All:
I want to make a crosstab query where the first few columns are specified
but the last column contains all the data which doesn't match the specified
columns. For example, if I have data for items "A","B","C","D","E", I want
the columns to be "A","B" and ("C","D", or "E"). I know there is a way but
I just can't remember. I had a feeling that you put a not equals (<>) in
the last column but I'm getting an error when I do that.
Thanks,
Doug Steele
