It's not calculus it simple (ie, kinder garden) arithmetic!! 8 bits to a Byte + overhead (CRC) approximates to 10 bits to a Byte. Divide bps by 10 to get (approx) Bytes. Ipso facto, etc as per (Stuart) below. Think of it as 10 cents on the Dollar!
