Max and Charlotte are not alone.

I too have no problems at all with WGA running. Indecently I did a little Googling myself and took a peek at the Wiki entry

It sounds like those problems you are getting may be due to WGA Notification, not the Active-X control, which AFIK is all I have installed, so that I get the non-critical updates.

Running XP SP3, and Windows 7 RC1.
