There's a Linux product called WINE to run Windows products on Linux. I'm surprised your customer's techies don't know about it. It's been around quite a while. http://www.winehq.org/download/ Also has Crossover. Or they could run Windows as a virtual machine on Linux. Would that not work to host the Access backend? -----Original Message----- From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Arthur Fuller Sent: Friday, January 02, 2009 11:06 AM To: Access Developers discussion and problem solving Subject: Re: [AccessD] Linux Server No. On Fri, Jan 2, 2009 at 11:59 AM, Rocky Smolin at Beach Access Software < rockysmolin at bchacc.com> wrote: > Dear List: > > Can an access back end be hosted on a Linux server? > > -- AccessD mailing list AccessD at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/accessd Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com ********************************************************************** WARNING: All e-mail sent to and from this address will be received, scanned or otherwise recorded by the CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, Inc. corporate e-mail system and is subject to archival, monitoring or review by, and/or disclosure to, someone other than the recipient. ********************************************************************** -- AccessD mailing list AccessD at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/accessd Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com
