Jim: Thanks but I thing the followhyperlink method seems tres simple and it works. That's the point at which I usually stop programming. I have some code to that solution if you would like. No problem. I get the path and file names using the open file dialog box. But now he wants to be able to click the attachment text box (it contains path and file name), and open the file with whatever program should open it - .doc/.docx with word, .pdf with acrobat, .xls with Excel, .jpg with whatever he's go it associated with, and any other file regardless of extension (based perhaps on the association?). Is there a way to general case this without knowing what application should be used to open the attachment and exactly where the application is located?
