I still have not giving up on getting things moved into a DB. One day MDB or
MS SQL (express).

Automation using Access as the base is cool because you can store code where
it best fits.  You can 
place modules into the spreadsheet to do the things like formatting of cells
and the like, and call 
it a template, and you can place the code that does the talking to Excel in
Access modules, even out 
in libraries.
