Hi Rocky,

Personally I find the TransferSpreadsheet to be far too unreliable for everyday use. I much prefer pulling down the data using the recordset method. - just my experience.

regards
Darryl

Subject: [AccessD] TrasnferSpreadsheet failing

Dear List:

I am trying to export data from a query to a spreadsheet.

I get the error 3027 Cannot update. Database or object is read only.

The line is: DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExportDelim,
acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, "qryExportMailingList", varFileName, True

varfilename has the full path, name and extension.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
