Drew

...for me. I'm not interested in changing the limited size text aspects of
the e-mail at all ...the current balance has been worked out over several
years and I'd not want to monkey with that aspect ...nor do I want to
increase the workload on the people who maintain this list and the web site
...people like Bryan and Jim with both the time and skills to do the work
are damned difficult to find as it is ...as are moderators with the
temperament to take our abuse and keep on doing the job ...they are the
heart of this list.

...but a forum base with an e-mail copy option would offer many benefits
over our current limitations ...Charlotte has certainly pointed out the
negatives but there are significant positives to consider as well

...limiting such a discussion to the BoD assumes they have all the requisite
knowledge to fully address such a consideration and we both know that's not
true ...good as the current BoD is, it is not the sum of all knowledge,
desires, or concern re the future of this list ...ultimately the dba
shareholders will decide what is and is not feasible ...but list members
must have an open voice in such discussions as this to ensure the BoD are
fully informed in the choices available and the priorities that list members
have in continuing with AccessD in its present form or updating it to a more
modern structure ...the BoD really has no idea of what is possible until
they have such input from a free and open discussion on the list.
