Are you running 64 bit Windows? Ctl3d32 has to be installed in the system32 directory And Access 97 needs the wrkgadm.exe copied there as well. I found something here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/230771-45-windows-64bit-office-ctl3d32 that might be useful, although it applies to 64-bit Win XP. See if it helps. All is well until the end and then I get a message that it can't install a ctl3D32.dll in the windows folder. The result when I start A97 I get a message: Access was unable to initialize the Windows Registry..... Ordinarily I would have used a virtual machine w/win XP. But I have a particular client that needs A97 & Out2003 together for automation, and need it now.
