[AccessD] SQL Server timeout

I am having issues where the Fe will "disconnect" (the term is mine) from SQL Server.  If I click on 
a linked table it will timeout and give me an error message saying the odbc connection is invalid. 
I can *immediately* click on the same table (or any other) and it will open.

Any idea what is going on?
