Charlotte - Another "angle" for us is Sharepoint 2010. With the advent of Office 365, it's gaining traction. The backend is SQL Server...and of course Access 2010 exploits it ....with limitations (natch). Albert Kallal built a helluva Access 2010 app on Sharepoint....it's on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU4mH0jPntI Very impressive...very little code. But of course: no VBA allowed..it's all this new "macro" language....which is NOT as powerful as VBA....YET.
