I work for a small firm that has a website that is used by customers to place orders (About 30-40 orders per day). The orders are stored in SQL Server. Both the website and the SQL Server order database are hosted by another firm. Each day, orders are pulled from the website's SQL Server database and processed internally. The internal processing is done with Access 2007 in conjunction with a purchased accounting package. We have had a number of difficulties with our current web hosting firm and we are probably going to switch to a new hosting firm. I have been asked to gather some information to help management make decisions regarding this switch. What is a ballpark range of the monthly price tag for a hosting firm to charge for hosting our website (with SQL Server)? Is it best to go with a local hosting firm or a national one (we are located in the US)? Any feedback on hosting firms (positive and negative)? There has been a small amount of discussion on the idea of hosting the website ourselves. We have no experience in this realm. Are there any well written documents on the web that explain the advantages and disadvantages of doing this. Thanks in advance for your ideas and insights. Brad
