Yes it is, especially SourceGear Vault. Vault allows you to maintain multiple versions of an application, so you can try something out and then roll back just one part of it if your brilliant idea for something falls on its face. It is very similar in usage to SourceSafe but it has some nifty features that make it well worthwhile.
